As one of the Administration staff and an expert in computer and server supprt; John provides a level of support, which includes a vast range of local administration. He is a Microsoft Certified Product Specialist and the administration of Microsoft Exchange Server, Workstations and Servers. John is responsible for the set-up and maintenance of this IIS as well as maintenance and updating of web pages for the 2 faculty and the 35 support personnel in the Herzenberg Laboratory and the FACS Development Group.
John is able to design configuration, manage installation and implementation of the network; respond to trouble calls, diagnose and identify chronic local network problems and develop solutions and repairs; monitor network for stability and proper configuration. He also supports the user community by acting as a liaison between users and Stanford network administrators. John also works with consultants, operations staff and/or LNAs on chronic network problems and develop solutions. Monitor networking industry technology and evaluate new products. and retreats.
Additionally, John assits the members of the Herzenberg laboratory in manuscript preparation and submission, computer troubleshooting and various other duties.
John is also the personnel assistant to the Herzenbergs which is a 24/7 position in itself. |
